This United Airlines Senior Analyst Can Help You Get Hired: Wonsulting Services

The job search is complex with lots of moving parts, and too many people think of it as a linear process. Your search involves applying, networking, interviewing, etc. all at the same time ...

When Wonsulting first started working 1:1 with job-seekers, it was only me and Jerry Lee conducting our services. I remember when we’d get so excited to work with job-seekers, whether it was on their resumes, LinkedIn profile, job search strategy, and even preparing them for interviews.

However, as the months went by in 2020, we saw our calendars fill up quickly; we weren’t able to help everyone, especially when our calendars were booked months in advance.

This is when we thought of bringing people on to help with our Wonsulting career services, and the first person I thought of was the one and only Jason Tsao, our longest tenured and senior career specialist who has been with us for the past 2 years.

Jason is currently a strategic partnerships senior analyst at United Airlines. He's also worked at companies like Accenture and Amazon, and he always loves to help job-seekers, especially those from non-traditional backgrounds, land jobs. Coming from a similar background, at first he wasn’t getting many responses from his applications; the only offer he got was from the Navy. However after a year, he pivoted to Accenture by optimizing his resume & LinkedIn, along with doing a lot of networking.

Jason never stopped there; he was even a mentor for our The20 Program at Wonsulting and has been helping job-seekers land offers at some of the top companies in the world.

This past week, I had the chance to interview him to talk about his experience at Wonsulting and advice he has for job-seekers:

How many people have you helped land jobs?

I’ve helped hundreds of people land jobs in the past 2 years. It’s a LOT considering I was the first resume writer for Wonsulting!

What do you enjoy the most about working with Wonsulting?

Having the chance to help people that also don’t come from a traditional background. It’s really rewarding when a client goes “wow, my resume looks so much better” and I played a part in that!

What do you believe job-seekers struggle with the most?

Too many people have analysis paralysis and index on the things that don’t matter. People worry too much about how xyz will look in the future when they haven’t even thought about the fundamentals (think of it as a crawl, walk, run metaphor - can’t run if you don’t know how to walk).

What is your best piece of advice for job-seekers?

The job search is complex with lots of moving parts, and too many people think of it as a linear process. Your search involves applying, networking, interviewing, etc. all at the same time and you have to work on each skills at the same time, just in different proportions depending on where you are.

Conclusion

The job search is complex, but doesn’t have to be; when you have individuals such as Jason who are willing to give back to their communities and help job-seekers, especially those from non-traditional backgrounds, then you know that everything will be okay.

This is what we’re all about at Wonsulting: turning underdogs into winners, and Jason Tsao exemplifies just that from the work he’s done for Wonsulting Services and for the hundreds of job-seekers he’s helped land jobs.
